The following article presents the very latest information on Pressure Washer PSI and GPM. If you have a particular interest in Pressure Washer PSI and GPM, then this informative article is required reading.

If you have pressure washed before you understand the importance of GPM. But for those who will be Pressure Washing for the first time or for those who are buying a pressure washer for the first time, let me explain.

Most are very familiar with pressure washer PSI and how it works. The higher the number the more powerful the pressure washer. Typically the higher the PSI a pressure washer has the better. You can always adjust the pressure down for more delicate jobs, but you can not turn the pressure higher if you need more PSI on a machine that has less PSI than you require.

On the other end of the spectrum, most do not understand pressure washer GPM ( gallons per minute ). GPM is far more important than PSI. Why you ask? Let me tell you.

Suppose you are pressure washing your deck. Let’s say your deck is 2000 square feet and it is a beautiful sunny day ( the deck is hot ). How long do you think it would take to pressure wash your deck using a 2000 PSI pressure washer that uses 1. 5 gallons of water per minute? Which is what your typical $200 pressure washer uses. Let me tell you from experience, you would be better off using a garden hose and scrubbing the mold and algae away on your hands and knees. In other words it would take a very long time.

Now lets say you have a $300 2000 PSI pressure washer that uses 3 gallons per minute. How long do you think it would take then? Again speaking from experience, it would take about an hour. Why so much quicker you ask? Let me tell you.

Simple, GPM ( gallons per minute ). 2000 PSI is enough pressure to break lose most debris, but what happens to the debris once it is free? It needs to be washed away or gathered into a nice tidy pool of debris to be cleaned up when you are done. When you are pressure washing on a nice sunny day or any day for that matter 1. 5 GPM will produce almost no water build up, which is what you need to wash that debris away. So the debris will be lose but it won’t go anywhere. But if you add another 1. 5 GPM to the picture that debris will wash away to wherever you want it to. It really is that simple and absolutely a must if you want your pressure washing experience to be a good one.

Don’t limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about Pressure Washer PSI and GPM. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what’s important, using a pressure washer to clean hard surfaces efficiently.

So what is Pressure Washing a Pool Deck really all about? The following report includes some fascinating information about Pressure Washing a Pool Deck.

Your pool deck is covered in mold, algae, and something you can’t even distinguish from the party last week. Sound familiar. Well don’t worry, with the right pressure washer (2000 psi and 3 gpm or higher) you’ll spend little time cleaning it up, and can get back to enjoying your pool.

Mold and algae not only look bad, they are extremely slippery as well. Bleach will remove mold and algae well, however never put any type of bleach or acid through your pressure washer. It is best to apply these types of chemicals with a pump up garden sprayer.

You will want to remove all items from your pool deck, toys, furniture, etc, that way you won’t damage anything. Connect your pressure washer to the appropriate water supply.

You’ll also want to remove any objects such as leaves, coins, or anything that might slow you down. You can accomplish this by simply holding your pressure washer wand straight out and blowing away the debris.

Next apply the right Chemical, like Concrete Cleaner to your pool deck, depending on what you are trying to get off and what type of material it is made of, being sure to follow all directions. You will want to use either a 15° or 25° spray tip holding your wand at a 90° angle to the pool deck. Depending on the material to be cleaned a pressure washer with between 2000 - 3500 psi and at least 3 gallons per minute ( gpm ) are required to accomplish this job quickly and efficiently.

Sometimes it’s tough to sort out all the details related to pressure washing, but I’m positive you’ll have no trouble making sense of the information presented above.

When you think about Pressure Washing a Boat, what do you think of first? Which aspects of Pressure Washing a Boat are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.

Using a pressure washer to clean your boat is ideal. No matter what shape or size it is. Being exposed to the elements continually can be damaging to a boat. Pressure washing your boat on a routine bases will save you time and money in the long run. Boats should be pressure washed about once a week if used regularly. This can be expensive to have professionally done, or a great money maker for someone who wants to do it as a business.

Before you begin you should make sure all windows, doors and port holes are closed. Your bilge pump should be in good working condition to remove any water that may accumulate in the bilge area. Your boat should also be able to drain water properly from the deck areas, so check to see all drains are clear and free flowing. Remove all Items from the boat that should not get wet. To reach the taller areas of your boat you may want to try a Telescoping Wand, this will eliminate all unsafe climbing and reaching.

Begin by connecting your pressure washer to the appropriate water supply, and checking the oil levels. A great chemical to decrease the amount of time you’re not enjoying your boat you can try our Brushless Vehicle Soap. Start at the top of the boat if you have more than one story and work your way down this will keep you from doing work twice. Make sure you are keeping your water flow at a 90° angle to get the most impact and efficiency from the pressure washer. Move your wand at a pace that will allow you to remove all the dirt, moving too fast gives poor results and too slow is time consuming.

You may not consider everything you just read to be crucial information about Pressure Washing a Boat. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself recalling and using this very information in the next few days.

If you are using a chemical your may want to wash your boat in sections. Chemicals should not sit on painted surfaces for longer than 5 - 10 minutes or they will be difficult to remove and you may damage your paint.

You should be cautious of treated woods such a teak, most of these woods are preserved using a varnish that a pressure washer can easily remove. Other areas on a boat you should take more caution around include but are not limited to, Bimini tops, canvas, plastic windshields, and wood decking. Some glass windshields have a protective cover that may scratch easily as well.

To prevent yourself from bringing dirt back onto your clean boat you should start by pressure washing your dock. You will either use your green or yellow tip for this purpose. Start at one end and in a side to side motion continue across the dock until you have finished. At this point you may want to rinse the side of your boat.

To pressure wash your hull and bottom on a smaller boat you will want to remove it from the water and stabilize it for safety. For dirtier areas use a little more chemical. Finally rinse your boat completely. You can do this with our Non Spotting Rinse to help eliminate water spots. Using a hot water pressure washer will allow you to use less chemicals and saves time and money in the end.

Those who only know one or two facts about Pressure Washing a Boat can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you’re learning here.

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding Pressure Washing a Garage. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about Pressure Washing a Garage.

When pressure washing a garage, auto service center, or maintenance shop a hot water pressure washer is a must. These areas are greasy, oily places, and the hot water will get deep down to eliminate stains and keep your shop or garage looking its best. The hot water will emulsify the oil, the pressure will lift it to the surface, and the water volume will carry it away. For most shop settings an electric hot water pressure washer is ideal because you tend not to move the pressure washer. You can fire the burners on some pressure washers with propane or natural gas. If you have a diesel fired burner and an electric motor you still need to operate this pressure washer outside.

A hot pressure washer pump is a option to allow you to use hot water from your hot water heater and plumbing. You can buy a cold water pressure washer with this upgrade and put water up to 140 degrees into the pressure washer pump with out causing any damage to the pressure washer pump.

Once you begin to move beyond basic background information, you begin to realize that there’s more to Pressure Washing a Garage than you may have first thought.

A normal cold water pressure washer pump can only handle water temperatures of 80 degrees. Keeping your shop clean will make your customers feel more comfortable and returning to you for future services.

Before you start any inside pressure washing job keep a few things in mind. Always remove any obstructions, be aware of your surroundings ( electrical sources, walls that can be damaged by water pressure, and people. If using a gas powered pressure washer or a diesel fired burner or a combination of the two be sure to run your pressure washer outside. A commercial grade pressure washer will give you and your shop or garage years of service. Coupled with the right chemical such as heavy duty degreaser you can take all the work out of keeping your shop in tip top shape. Always make sure you have a route for the water to escape and not pool inside your shop. If you have low areas that do accumulate water a squeegee is a great way to remove the excess water.

If you’ve picked some pointers about Pressure Washing a Garage that you can put into action, then by all means, do so. You won’t really be able to gain any benefits from your new knowledge if you don’t use it.

In today’s world, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering facts for this article, I was quite surprised to find some of the issues I thought were settled are actually still being openly discussed.

For those of you who are interested in cleaning your own gutters. A pressure washer takes all the work right out of this task. With an extension and a gutter cleaning attachment you can safely clean your gutters with a pressure washer. This means that anyone that can operate a pressure washer can clean thier gutters themselves. By cleaning your gutters on a regular basis you can even save yourself money in the future by eliminating the possibility of clogged gutters that can hold water against your fascia causing rot and possible leak into your home.

If you own a two story home you’ll love owning a telescoping wand. This will allow you not only to be able to clean your gutters, but your siding sofit, and other out of reach areas. These wands can be extended up to 24’ and retract for easy storage. Your gutters may have black streaks all over them and scrubbing from the roof or a ladder can be dangerous. By using our 503 chemical and a bleach mixture, 1 part of each to 4 parts of water, and a pressure washer your gutters will like new in no time. Never use bleach or any acid through your chemical injector, these chemicals can damage your internal components of the injector, and your gun.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

To start your gutter cleaning project, attach you pressure washer to the appropriate water supply and turn on your machine. Connect your telescoping wand and work your way from the downspout to the end of the gutter. This will prevent you from forcing large amounts of debris in to your downspouts. If your downspouts are already clogged you will need to unclog them prior to beginning the remainder of the job. A snake can do the job, however if your gutters are piped under ground you may want to consider a set of sewer jetting accessories. These tools will allow you to use your pressure washers power to remove the clog. You can also use these tools for unclogging sewer lines as well. Once you have removed all the debris from your gutters using the gutter attachment, rinse your way back to the downspout and double check for clogs. Apply the appropriate Chemical to the exterior of the gutter being sure to follow all directions. Wait the recommended chemical work time then using both your green or white tip and the correct length extension wand pressure wash away the gunk.

As your knowledge about Pressure Washing Gutters continues to grow, you will begin to see how Pressure Washing Gutters fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

The entrance way of your home should be as inviting as your home itself. As you drive you will collect all sorts of unmentionable road debris, depositing it onto your driveway. Your kids may play here and you will certainly track this scum right into your home. Instead of spending hours with a broom and hose try a pressure washer. A pressure washer could easily save you hours of scrubbing and your back. Using a chemical can also reduce the amount of time you spend caring for your driveway.

The following article presents the very latest information on Pressure Washing a Driveway. If you have a particular interest in Pressure Washing a Driveway, then this informative article is required reading.

Concrete driveways will require the most PSI with a recommended minimum off 2400 PSI. The water volume GPM is also an important factor to carry the loose dirt away. Keep in mind a larger pressure washer with more PSI and GPM will significantly shorten the time it takes to clean your driveway. Asphalt and other driveway surfaces may require less pressure than concrete. You may want to test the pressure in an inconspicuous area prior to completing your entire driveway.

Those of you not familiar with the latest on Pressure Washing a Driveway now have at least a basic understanding. But there’s more to come.

Start by removing cars, toys, and anything else that may get in your way. You can pretreat oil stained areas with concrete cleaner, being sure to follow all directions. The most effective spray tip will be your 15° tip giving effective impact. Connect your pressure washer to the appropriate water supply and then turn your pressure washer on. Start pressure washing at the highest point of your driveway, which will usually be next to your house or garage, this will allow dirty water to flow away from the house.

When many homeowners think of ways to make their homes look better, they consider getting services like lawn maintenance, gutter cleaning, window washing and home cleaning. While all of these services are necessary, many homeowners fail to consider their sidewalk and siding and what condition it is in. Simply put, having siding that is in good condition is a necessity, as siding that is in bad condition will be more prone to issues such as mold, which can be a problem for those who are allergic to it. There are many benefits to getting Pressure Washing done by a professional, as you’ll find out in this article.

Four Benefits of Pressure Washing

- It’s Not as Expensive as Replacing Things Outright. Does your siding look like it’s been there for a long time and is in desperate need of replacement. Or how about your deck—does it look like the wood needs to be re-stained? These are both signs that your siding and deck are in need of maintenance. A lot of people assume that when the condition of anything on their hope deteriorates, it’s automatically time to replace it. But a good pressure washing can restore your deck, siding or sidewalk to its original condition because the wash removes dirt and many other things that can make your deck, siding, or sidewalk look in worse condition than it really is.

- It Gets Rid of Harmful Mold. It’s a fact that many homes have mold of some kind on them, which can trigger allergic reactions. If you’ve felt like your home is making you sick, it could very well be a mold build up on the outside. Pressure washing is able to cut through mold and grime and remove it in a way that is safe and will be beneficial to both you and your home.

- Extends the Life of Roof Shingles. Replacing the roof on any home is a very costly thing, and a build-up of mold is a common cause for shingles that need to be replaced a lot more often than they should. Fortunately, pressure washing—even on roofs—can get rid of the mold and greatly extend the life of the shingles, saving homeowners thousands of dollars in potential repairs.

- Better Insulation and More Energy Efficient. Improper home maintenance can result in a home that is poorly insulated and will cost a lot more to keep warm. Due to the rising cost of energy, having a properly insulated home is essential, and believe it or not, pressure washing can aid in this. That’s because pressure washing gets rid of things that can affect the insulation of the home, both on the roof and on the siding.

Why to Hire a Professional to Pressure Wash

In some instances, doing things yourself can save money and time, but not when it comes to important home maintenance like pressure washing. It’s far cheaper to hire a professional business to do your home’s pressure washing, as you won’t need to buy the special equipment they use to get it done.

You’ll also save time, as you won’t have to spend hours doing it yourself.

Finally, the results will last much longer than an amateur job would.

Your deck is an extension of your home. Using a pressure washer is a very efficient way of maintaining a beautiful deck for years to come. Think of how many homes you know of with a deck, and all of them will need to be cleaned at some point in time.
When most people think of Pressure Washing a Deck, what comes to mind is usually basic information that’s not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there’s a lot more to Pressure Washing a Deck than just the basics.

Depending on the type of stains you are trying to remove from your deck you will want to pick appropriate chemicals.

After you have allowed the chemical to work, start cleaning by holding your wand at a 90 degree angle to the deck keeping your tip constantly moving. Once you have finished washing your deck you will need to give it 24 - 48 hours to dry before adding a sealer. When washing around corners you will want to use added caution to not damage the wood.

There are four matters to consider when choosing a pressure washer.

You should be able to find several indispensable facts about Choosing a Pressure Washer in the following paragraphs. If there’s at least one fact you didn’t know before, imagine the difference it might make.

* What will you be Pressure Washing? If you are going to pressure wash cars, boats, or other around the house surfaces you might choose a light to medium duty cold water pressure washer. If you are going to be pressure washing grease, oil, or other such compounds you would want a hot water pressure washer.

* How often will you use the pressure washer? If you only plan on using your pressure washer 20 hours a week or less a light to medium commercial duty pressure washer would be your pick. If you plan on using the pressure washer for 20 hours a week or more you should consider a heavy duty belt drive pressure washer.

* How much power do I need? Keep in mind all pressure washers do the exact same thing the only reason for a larger pressure washer is to do the same job faster. Faster here is the key word. If you plan on opening a pressure washing business you want to be able to do the jobs as quickly as possible to generate the most profit from your time.

* Should I buy a gas or electric powered pressure washer?

If you find yourself confused by what you’ve read to this point, don’t despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.

Gas pressure washers are ideal for mobility. If you are going to travel from location to location a gas pressure washer is the best choice. An electric pressure washer is best utilized in a shop or factory where constant power is available.

Here are a few recommendations to help you decide between a cold or hot water pressure washer.

Cold Water Pressure Washers

Cold water pressure washers work great on cars, decks, siding and anything that may be heat sensitive ( i. e. plastic, rubber, or some paints. ) Cold water pressure washers are less expensive and require less maintenance and upkeep.

Hot Water Pressure Washers

Hot water pressure washers work especially well on oil based agents. The heat emulsifies the oil allowing the water to carry it away. Hot water pressure washers are beneficial when pressure washing a fast food drive thru, heavy duty machinery, and any place oil frequently comes in contact with a surface. Hot water pressure washers also work great for sanitation purposes.

When you have decided how you will use your new pressure washer you can then decide which type will fit your needs the best and give you the most for your money

Of course, it’s impossible to put everything about Choosing a Pressure Washer into just one article. But you can’t deny that you’ve just added to your understanding about Choosing a Pressure Washer, and that’s time well spent.
